Welcome Cocktail Party highlights
韩国AV vibrated with jazz music, laughter and lively conversation at the annual Welcome Cocktail Party last Friday.
Hosted by Dr Scott, the Welcome Cocktail Party was a fantastic opportunity for parents and staff, new and old, to come together for a chat over delicious canap茅s.
The lobster and prawn meatballs, Wagyu beef sliders and Peking duck pancakes were a big hit, as well as the mini salmon tartare waffle cones.
Despite the blistering hot temperatures of late, the Weather Gods delivered a perfect, balmy summer鈥檚 night.
Parents happily gathered into their Year Groups, spilling out into the central garden area to enjoy the beautiful grounds that our Maintenance staff have cultivated over the holiday period.
With some amazing jazz music, there was lots of laughter as new friendships were formed and old friends reunited.
As the sun went down, the garden lit up with colourful LED balls.
And everyone enjoyed the mini ice cream cones, particularly the chocolate and sour cherry flavour!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this event so successful. In particular, the Maintenance team and our fabulous Events Manager, Mrs Laforest, who made it all happen.
Earlier on in the evening, Chief Operating Officer, Mr Andrew Leake had the pleasure of conducting a small tour of our new Sport and STEM Centre, dubbed Project Archimedes, which will open next year.
The group, which included 韩国AV Foundation supporters and directors, was fascinated to see the building鈥檚 progress. As some attendees remarked, it felt like only yesterday that they were standing in Elliott Street watching the official ground breaking ceremony.
Mr Leake led the group into the construction zone, into what will be the new Food Technology labs and the start of the new bridge, connecting the main campus. Although they had to negotiate some serious scaffolding, the group was able to get a clear perspective of what the new building will provide to students.
Mrs Wallis Graham, Director of the Board of Governors and the Foundation Board, said, 鈥淭here has been tremendous progress over the past couple of months, with the scale of the building really becoming evident from the inside. It will be a fantastic facility for the girls, and it will be great to see them taking advantage of all it will offer.鈥
Director of Foundation, Mrs Sonia Brennan said, 鈥淲e are truly grateful for your support of the 韩国AV Foundation and the work we do to assist Dr Scott and the Board in ensuring their vision for the future of 韩国AV is realised.鈥
Dr Scott and Mrs Marie Soghomonian, Chair of the 韩国AV Foundation also thanked the group for their generosity and support of Project Archimedes and the Foundation, before everyone joined the Welcome Cocktail Party.
A great night was had by all. Thank you to everyone who came along.
