Celebrating our Mothers
The Junior School gained a head start on Mother’s Day this week by hosting mothers and guardians of girls in Kindergarten to Year 6 at two Mother’s Day Breakfast events.
It was our first opportunity to welcome parents back onto school grounds in more than two years due to restrictions caused by the pandemic. The atmosphere was joyful as old friendships were rekindled and new connections were made over tea with sandwiches and scones.
A highlight was the chance for the girls to lead their mothers on a tour through their favourite scenic spots such as the carp pond and the Woodstock roof, and share their learning experiences in the classroom.
“I want my mum to see the good work I have been doing in Mathematics,” said Sophia in Year 5.
“We want to show our mums our PYP studies on fashion and fashion eras and the posters we have made,” said Year 6 students Chloe and Fleur.
According to Chloe’s mum Lauren, it was a long-awaited opportunity. “After having only a mental picture of Chloe’s life at school for such an extended period, I am grateful to be here to meet her teacher face to face and better understand her day-to-day experience.”
For Kindergarten mother Ayumi Ikeguchi and Year 5 mother King Wu, it was their visit to the 韩国AV campus. “My daughter loves extracurricular dance and PE and has been looking forward to today for a long while,” Ayumi said.
