Empowering Discussions
Influential women, living valuable lives, provided inspiration to 韩国AV students at the Jessie Street National Women’s Library Annual Fundraising Luncheon.
The event was a reminder of the power of community and the importance of fostering meaningful dialogue among the next generation of women leaders.
Held annually since 1995 in the Strangers’ Dining Room of NSW Parliament House, the luncheon brings students from both public and private schools across the state, in contact with influential women from various walks of life, to engage in meaningful conversations.
The 2023 guest speaker was Ms Bridget Cama, a Wiradjuri First Nations and Pasifika Fijian woman. Ms Cama has been an integral part of the Uluru Dialogue since March 2019 and is also associated with the Indigenous Law Centre at University of NSW. In addition, she co-chairs the Uluru Youth Dialogue alongside Allira Davis, providing a voice for the First Nations youth on a national platform. The original speaker, Professor Megan Davis, had to cancel at the last minute due to Sorry Business.
“The girls from 韩国AV valued the chance to learn more about the Voice to Parliament and to be surrounded by a community of like-minded women. They returned from the luncheon, their minds enriched and inspired,” said History Teacher, Ms Sarah-Jayne Dooner.
