The Great Outdoors

韩国AV camp season officially kicked off this week with Years 5, 9, and 10 heading out for some immersive adventures around the state.

The camps form part of our sequential approach to building student teamwork, camaraderie, and outdoor skills, as well as fostering self-belief and personal growth.

Year 5 students enjoyed a high-impact camp at Attunga in the Southern Highlands. Located amidst tens of thousands of acres of national park, it was a chance to experience beautiful fauna and a plethora of native animals resident to the site. Among the experiences designed to entice them beyond their comfort zone, were lessons in safe horse handling and archery.

The water expedition was organised in cooperation with Southbound Adventures, and aimed to support the students’ sense of achievement and shared experiences as they navigated the river's twists and turns. Teamwork was a key learning objective, and there were also numerous opportunities for reflection and relaxation.

For Year 10 students, an enriching trip to Jindabyne was carefully designed to support their transition into the final year of Upper School. The week provided opportunities to experience outdoor activities such as whitewater canoeing, river sledding, mountain biking, and alpine hiking in the area's stunning mountain terrain. They were also guided in experiences aimed at cultivating a proactive mindset and building the courage to embrace the challenges and leadership opportunities that arrive in the latter years of school.
