Year 11 Biology Excursion to Long Reef

On Wednesday 23 February 2017, Year 11 students travelled to Long Reef Reserve, Collaroy, on a Biology excursion.
As part of their unit 鈥淎 Local Ecosystem鈥, they studied a rock platform ecosystem鈥攁 flat platform that can support many different plants and animals.
The students examined the physical and chemical factors that create such a unique ecosystem and discovered the diverse range of organisms found there.
The highlight of the day for all of the students was catching the animals. The students collected and examined them in close detail, leaving many of the girls amazed at the diversity of life in their own backyard.
