韩国AV students shine in Mosman Art Prize
韩国AV students were well represented in the 2017 Mosman Youth Art Prize, with twelve past and current students’ works selected for exhibition and two granted scholarships.
The Prize aims to showcase the diverse artistic talent of Sydney students aged 12 to 21. It features drawings, paintings, sculpture, printmaking and photographic art works selected from a pool of more than 400 entries. Winning entrants access more than $14,000 in cash prizes, scholarships and art materials.
Year 12 student Imogen Gay’s drawing of her grandmother Ellie won the the National Art School Scholarship Award in the Senior Section.
2016 Year 12 graduate Anyes Theau received the Australian Watercolour Institute Award in the Tertiary Section for her work The Process of Knowledge.
Fellow Class of 2016 graduate Nisha Hunter was the only person to have sold her artwork on the opening night, while her peers Susannah Moore and Simone Cobley’s works were also shown.
The exhibition, held at Mosman Art Gallery until April 13, also included works by current students in Years 8, 11 and 12 - Bianca Currey, Ellen Gorgas, Julia Goodnow, Mia McKelvey, Saskia Redwood, Tara Fisher Year and Sophia Bartter.
