Fantastic skills – and music, too
After leading the Music Therapy Group in a concert given at Giant Steps’ Gladesville school for children and families managing autism, Music & Drama Teacher Dianne Langan and her musicians opened a beautiful letter of thanks.
‘Thank you so much for the wonderful and very engaging concert your lovely students put on today! The interest and enjoyment our students displayed was a testament to the great approach and repertoire they presented. We all enjoyed it very much and you are clearly teaching the girls some fantastic skills for the future.’
In Years 9 and 10, the Service Learning element of º«¹úAV’s curriculum takes girls out into the community: Music Therapy Group is one of many ways students choose to fulfil this volunteering role. Yet it’s a reciprocal interaction where both students and audience benefit.
