Souped-up art
Delicious binary themes were debated over soup on a chilly but creative evening in the Judith Dey Gallery, 18 July, when a soup kitchen celebrated the opening of Feast or Famine, an exhibition of Years 8 and 9 artworks. Parents and students enjoyed pumpkin soup as they viewed sumptuous lino prints featuring sugary feasts. Year 9 students created still-life paintings investigating themes of the brevity of life … and the distractions of consumerism. Year 8 students also created ceramic bowls – used to eat their soup.
